Artist's Bio

Making beads is the most recent of my multiplicity of creative pursuits. Iíve been making beads now for 6 years, and before that I made paintings and clothing designed with my own painted and hand screened fabrics. Iím loving glass the most, however, because of the infinity of moods to express with it and colors to play in. Iíve been using Moretti,. Bullseye and borosilicate glass. Each one has its own personality and character, and Iím intrigued by the possibilities in each of them. Because I also make jewelry with the beads, I see that some beads like to head in the direction of a necklace, and some of them want to just be who they are on their own. Iím having enormous fun with this, and what I discover is that there is always so much more to learn and to practice. The chemistry and the way one color reacts with another is the world I can spend my life in. I have so much respect and gratitude for, not only the teachers Iíve experienced personally, but for all those who have forged the way for glass to become such an incredible explosion of creativity for so many artists.
