Artist's Bio

Melanie Cansler first began her journey into glass in 1995. After working with Soft Glass for two years, she ventured into the world of Borosilicate. Her passion for hot glass was ignited and a career as a full-time studio artist began.

Experimenting with solid and hollow forms has allowed her work to become varied and open to the many possibilities within hard glass. The majority of her work incorporates fuming, a technique used to melt pure silver and gold onto the glass creating ghostly hazes of earthy tones and encompassing an organic feel. ìI want my work to evoke the feeling and wonder of mystery within the admirer.î ìThe mystery and the energy of life that connects us.î
